The weather is beautiful here in southeast Iowa this morning. Can’t say similar about the social situation in Gary, Indiana. Is anyone in here from there? If you don’t know, check out The New York Times today. There is an article about how people in Gary have lived without electricity for 10 days after a bad storm knocked out power. Gary is mostly black and working class with a high poverty rate. Folks are suffering extra so now. The least we can do is read up on it. So check out the NYT. Pass it on if you can. Hopefully the workers for the power company gets electricity flowing as soon as possible.
